Ropeways from Kanak Vrindavan to Jaigarh fort

The Kanak Vrindavan Garden was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur approximately 280 years ago. This beautiful valley is surrounded by the Aravalli Hills and it seem like the real Vrindavan where Lord Krishna spent his childhood days and danced with the Gopis. This Kanak Vrindavan garden was built to serve the recreational purpose of the king. Jaigarh fort is one of the famous monument which was built in the 18th century. This fort is located in the Amer City which was ruled by the Kachawahas from the early 10th century. Jaigarh fort is also known as “The Fort of the Victory” which was constructed by Sawai Jai Singh II and Mirza Raja Jai Singh in 1726. This fort is located at an approximate height of 500 feet on the top of the hill named as ‘Cheel Ka Teela’ or Hill of Eagles. The fort was built to safeguard Amber palace and a three kilometer fortification wall surrounds the Jai Garh Fort. Jaigarh Fort kept the treasures of the royal family of the Maharaja of Jaipur, in the form of massive gold bullions.

This ropeway between the Kanak Vrindavan and Jaigarh Fort was proposed in the year 2000 by the Jaipur Development Authority to boost tourist inflow to Jaigarh and Nahargarh fort. The rope way is also equipped with electronic gadgets. A hassle free as well as an entertaining journey can be facilitated through this rope way. A massive face lift to the fabulous Jal Mahal is also provided by this ropeway, which must be included in the itinerary of every tourist. However the project remained pending for many days as the approval was not given by the forest department for the construction of this ropeway to Jaigarh fort. According to the officials of Jaipur Development Authority this project remains pending for approximately a year. Even the project of the construction of this ropeway is approved by the Jaipur Development Authority, but still it has not been taken off. According to the engineers, JDA and project incharge, the files for this project were sent to the forest department for their approval.

According to common people and tourist this ropeway will add more attraction to the Jaipur City. The JDA also got approval from the wildlife board for this project. Till date the project has not been taken off even after a long period. The files of this project were sent to the forest department for the clearances. The area belongs to the Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary and the forest department. JDA conceptualizes this project so as to boost tourist inflow on these sites which includes Jal Mahal and the forts of Nahargarh and Jaigarh. The ropeway will start from 300 year old Kanak vrindavan temple and will be electronically equipped.

The elevation distance between the terminals is 200 metres and the length of the proposed ropeway is 1.5 kilometre. The ropeway will be handled by a Kolkata based company, Damodar Ropeways and Construction Company. The ropeway will connect the Kanak-Vrindawan to the Nahargarh and the Jaigarh Forts. Because of delay in the project, its cost may increase according to the authorities of JDA. The estimated cost was 11.5 crores but because of delays due to digital survey the cost will be 17.5 crores. This project is moving very slowly as it will destroy the forest land according to the forest department. A facilitated and obstacle free entertaining journey will be enjoyed if the project will get completed. Upper Stations will approximately require three hectares of forest lands for construction of this rope way. Some patches are also required for the erecting of eight pillars. It will also provide an opportunity to have the aerial view of Pink City from a height of 200 meters. It will be firstly leased for 30 years.
