Earlier this palace was known as Ranawati ji ka Bagh. Raj Mahal Palace Hotel was built in the year 1729 A.D. by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh of Jaipur for his favorite Maharani Chandra Kumar Ranawati who was a daughter of the Maharaja of Udaipur. The palace was used to house the Britisher from 1821 onwards. This palace was built in approximately 15 acres of land and has well maintained lawns in it. In the year 1979, the Raj Mahal Palace was converted in to a hotel. By staying in this hotel one can go back into the Royal past. The palace is situated on the Sardar patel Marg in Jaipur City which is 10 kms away from Jaipur International airport, 2 kms from Railway station and 2 kms from Bus Stand. Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, lady Diana also stayed in this hotel. Amenities include a swimming pool and tennis lawn. It also includes a library.
